January 12, 2010 Meeting

We have planned friendship scarves for this month.  The idea is to share your remnants with your knitting
friends. Please, go through your stash and bring lots of yarn remnants.  These
pieces should be at least 5 yards in length and worsted weight.  Bring a variety
of colors. The yarn can be variegated, flecked, solid, boucle, fuzzy - whatever
you have.  These scarves are worked length-wise.  A long circular needle works
well for this project.  The needle size is up to you.  I made my last one with a
size 10 1/2.  Others made the scarf with smaller sized needles.  We will share
our yarn.  Each person's scarf will be different and interesting.  I will bring
2 examples along.  If anyone has a friendship scarf, please bring it to
show.

We will vote for our officers and board members this month.Dues for this
year will be $15 again.

See you Tuesday,
Helga Berutti

November 2009 meeting

November is a month to give thanks, our meeting theme will be "Knitting for Charity".  The Sage Cancer Center is in need of chemo hats and preemie hats are always needed at the area's hospitals.  First up are nominations for 2010 officer and board members.  The rest of the evening will be dedicated to charity knitting.  Some patterns will be available, or bring your own. Almost any type of yarn will work, but please nothing too itchy or scratchy.

December's Meeting -Officer & board elections
Christmas Party - bring a dish to pass, optional gift exchange - if you would like to participate, buy a knitting related gift for around $10 for a game of Dirty Santa.
This year the guild will not be buying gifts,  instead we'll carry over the limited funds for next year, perhaps hire a teacher for a workshop and other guild expenses.

January Meeting - (tentative) Friendship Scarves.  Many newer members have not made one in the past.  Friendship Scarves are made by taking about 5 yards of yarn from other guild member's skeins, then knitting a length wise scarf from all the different yarns collected.  (If you have made one in the past bring it November or Decembers meeting so we can admire the finished product)
