Charity Knitting for St. Vincent DePaul Society
Here's an opportunity for all you generous charity knitters! And, a great way to use up your stash or left-over yarn...
Maria Rice, daughter of Guild member Marybeth Vogrinc, is requesting mittens of all sizes for the St. Vincent DePaul Society's Mitten Drive being held through the end of October. The mittens will be given to needy kids at the Society's Thanksgiving Food Drive distribution in mid-November. Maria is a committee member of the Society based at Queen of Angels Parish, serving the Albany Park and surrounding neighborhoods. For more information contact Marybeth at Vogrinc@comcast.net.
Even though mittens will be given to kids, the Society serves quite a few teenagers that would use adult sizes. If there is enough, they may even give them out to the adults.
Please give your mittens to Marybeth at the August, September and October meetings! Thanks in advance!!
